Reem Khir to Join Purdue IE Faculty
Reem is interested in the planning and design of logistics and transportation systems with a special focus on system optimization and design under uncertainty. Her current work focuses on developing computationally-tractable solution approaches to address the increasing complexity of logistics operations faced by express parcel carriers.
Reem Khir completed her PhD in Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech in January 2022, where she was co-advised by Alan Erera and Alejandro Toriello. Prior to that, she received her B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering and M.S. in Engineering Management from Qatar University, where she spent 5 years after undergrad working on projects related to student success and retention, quality assurance, and strategic planning. Reem will spend the remainder of this year as a postdoctoral fellow in the NSF Artificial Intelligence Institute for Advances in Optimization (AI4OPT) working on research that leverages optimization and AI to solve modern logistics and supply chain challenges.
Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Reem Khir!
