Prof. Anand Raghunathan receives 2021 Qualcomm Faculty Award

For the second straight year, Anand Raghunathan, Silicon Valley Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering has been chosen to receive a Qualcomm Faculty Award (QFA). The QFA supports key professors and their research through a $75,000 charitable donation to their university.

ECE alumnus part of team chosen for DARPA’s WARP program

A company led by a Purdue ECE alumnus has been chosen to conduct research for DARPA’s Wideband Adaptive RF Protection (WARP) program. Steven Cuppy (BSEE ’85, MSEE ’86) is a principal of Indiana Microelectronics, LLC, in West Lafayette. A start-up building on cutting-edge research in applied electromagnetics and advanced packaging materials, Indiana Microelectronics designs and produces tunable microwave filters for co-site interference and jamming mitigation.

ECE professors receive ONR grant to study spectrum intelligence

Two professors from Purdue’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering have received a $1.5-million, three-year grant from the Office of Naval Research (ONR). The project involving Christopher Brinton, assistant professor of ECE, and David J. Love, the Nick Trbovich Professor of ECE, is titled “Network-Aware Distributed Machine Learning and Sensor Fusion for Spectrum System Intelligence.” Brinton is the PI on the project, which also includes collaborators at the University of Kansas.

Intel, alumni support propels robot initiative to fight COVID-19

Generous financial and entrepreneurial support from Intel and from College of Engineering alumni is powering a College-led initiative to develop and bring to market robotic and related technologies to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and potentially other diseases.
