It is very important to find the right balance between work and life very early on in your career. Purdue provides numerous academic as well as non-academic opportunities and utilizing them properly can ensure that you have a more fulfilling experience here.

Why did you choose Purdue for graduate school?

Two factors contributed equally to my decision for joining Purdue's graduate school. First, Purdue ECE has an excellent reputation both nationally and internationally for its cutting edge research and academics. Second, my research interests matched very closely to that of my current advisor and i knew that i could continue to work on them even after coming to Purdue.

Area of research:

Overall, I look at different machine learning applications and try to improve their execution on various platforms by proposing techniques in both hardware and software.

Best event or organization you’ve participated in within ECE?

I like attending different events organized by the ECEGSA (ECE Graduate Student Association). A lot of their events are very relevant for the professional and emotional development of graduate students.

Best event or organization you’ve participated in outside of ECE?

I am an active member of a student society at Purdue, Purdue University Tagore Society. We organize and participate in various cultural events while trying to showcase the work and philosophy of the Nobel laureate poet and author Rabindranath Tagore.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a potential Purdue ECE student?

It is very important to find the right balance between work and life very early on in your career. Purdue provides numerous academic as well as non-academic opportunities and utilizing them properly can ensure that you have a more fulfilling experience here.

Who is someone in industry/academia that you look up to and why?

I really admire Elon Musk for his immense ability to push the limits of innovation and achieve the impossible in different fields of science and engineering. He inspires me to believe that all big dreams can be a reality one day through the correct mix of vision, drive and hard work.

What is your ultimate career goal?

I would like to continue in academia after my PhD and maybe become a professor someday.

What do you do in your free time?

In my free time I like to read books, listen to songs or just browse through the internet.
