Why did you choose Purdue for graduate school?

Purdue is one of the top-ranked universities in the field of electrical engineering. I had initial interest and experience in nano-device modeling. Purdue is well-renowned for its rich faculty who are world leaders in this area.

Area of research:

Nano-device modeling, hardware design for brain-inspired computing.

Best event or organization you’ve participated in within ECE?

The inauguration ceremony of the new C-BRIC (Center for Brain Inspired Computing) center was an amazing event that I want to mention. It was especially important to me, because my supervisor, Prof. Kaushik Roy is the director of the center. It was a lovely gathering of ECE faculty and students. The appearance and speech by Purdue President, Mr. Mitch Daniels was an added attraction of the afternoon.

Best event or organization you’ve participated in outside of ECE?

I attended a meeting of Purdue Women in HPC (High Performance Computing). It was a gathering of like-minded people and an inspirational event. I came to know about the club’s activities. One of the students shared her experience from a conference.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a potential Purdue ECE student?

Make the best use of the diverse set of courses and programs (Academic, management, communication) that Purdue ECE offers.

Who is someone in industry/academia that you look up to and why?

My Supervisor, Prof. Kaushik Roy. I really admire how he manages a large group of 30 people so efficiently. The students work on a diverse set of topics. He personally meets each student weekly and guides them. He is a truly inspirational figure to me.

What is your ultimate career goal?

I want to be a leader and contributor to the advancement of nanotechnology, whether through industry or academia.

What do you do in your free time?

I love to cook cuisines from different countries in my free time.
