Reagen Oliver
Undergraduate Student
Hometown: Greenville, IN
Major: Electrical Engineering
Why did you choose to study electrical and computer engineering?
I've always wanted to know how to make one of those lemon batteries.
Favorite Purdue ECE class (so far!) and why:
My favorite ECE class so far has been Advanced C Programming because even though you would never catch me voluntarily taking a class exclusively about programming again, I learned a lot that semester and I survived.
Best event or organization you’ve participated in within ECE?
I've recently joined the Women in ECE committee.
Best event or organization you’ve participated in outside of ECE?
I love volunteering for the Student Concert Committee.
What is one piece of advice you would give to a potential Purdue ECE student?
Stick around and see if you like it. Circuits are kind of cool.
Who is someone in industry that you look up to and why?
I look up to Rowan "Mr. Bean" Atkinson because he's made three generations laugh hysterically without even talking, while simultaneously being an electrical engineer. So he's funny and smart.
What is your ultimate career goal?
My ultimate career goal is to eventually find a financially stable job that combines engineering with my creative/artistic passions.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time I do photography, play guitar and ukulele, and DIY everything.
