Faculty

(Purdue ECE) is among the best ECE departments in the country. This reflects in the quality of the students, both undergraduate and graduate. It is very energetic and constantly looking for ways to improve.

When/how did you first get interested in ECE as an area of study?

My favorite subjects in high school were math and physics but I wanted an area where the practical applications are more obvious. Engineering was a natural choice for me. I chose electrical and computer engineering because I liked the abstract thinking it requires.

How long have you been at Purdue?

Over 17 years

Main area(s) of research:

Testing of electronic chips. The manufacturing processes of electronic chips introduce defects that need to be detected and diagnosed in order to prevent defective chips from reaching customers and being used to build systems. I specialize in algorithms for test and diagnosis, and the design of circuits to reduce the costs of testing and diagnosing them.
