The work was in collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The research involves self-cooling photovoltaic modules which can provide a 0.5% absolute efficiency boost and extend the lifetime by 85%.
Photovoltaic research by Professors Ashraful Alam, Peter Bermel, and PhD student Xingshu Sun has been featured in the Nature Energy Journal. It was originally published in the IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics.
The work was in collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and is a research project involving self-cooling photovoltaic modules which can provide a 0.5% absolute efficiency boost and extend the lifetime by 85% for commercial c-Si solar modules.
Xingshu Sun is advised by Professors Alam and Mark Lundstrom.
