Enas Sakr, a third year Ph.D. student, has been awarded one of the SPIE optics and photonics education scholarships. SPIE offers Optics and Photonics Education Scholarships for outstanding students for their potential long-range contribution to optics, photonics or related field.

Enas Sakr’s research focuses on improving high efficiency thermophotovoltaic systems (TPV) using the principles of photonics. She is advised by Professor Peter Bermel.
